Ministry Animator?

You might be asking yourself,"Just what is a Presbytery Ministry Animator?"? Good question, and it's one I've been asking myself for a while now. This is a half-time position with the Presbytery of Ottawa and the Presbytery of Seaway-Glengarry, supported by a grant from the Presbyterian Church in Canada's Life and Mission Agency.

The challenge is to help congregations, camps and para-church organizations "grow disciples of Jesus Christ," recognizing that this requires a comprehensive and cooperative approach. This is where I believe God is calling me to be and to work. Thanks to the many who support me in this work, and please keep the work (and me) in your prayers!!

Animator / Presbytery of Ottawa

For the Presbytery of Ottawa, I work primarily with Ottawa's youth leaders and groups. My mission is to support congregations in their ministry to their youth - whether this is by working with youth leaders, providing training for youth leaders or offering different workshops, such as Leading with Care. As Chair of the Youth Working Group, I am also involved in planning and running a number of presbytery-wide youth activities.

Animator / Presbytery of Seaway-Glengarry

For the Presbytery of Seaway-Glengarry, I work primarily with clergy and congregations. My primary mission is to support clergy, elders and congregations as they explore ministry in an increasingly secular society. I offer a number of workshops, including Elder Training, Pastoral Care Training, and Re-Imagine Your Church. I am also involved in Presbytery Visitations.

Networking

A major part of my work is networking. This involves strengthening the Presbyterian community through monthly newsletters, and, for the youth, maintaining a website and Facebook page. Networking also involves connecting with a number of other groups for collaborative initiatives, grants, etc.

The work is certainly challenging but this is where I believe God is calling me to be and to work. Thanks to the many who support me in this work, and please keep the work (and me) in your prayers!!
