Here are a few suggestions that I have collected so far:
CALLAHAN, Kennon L. (1997). Effective Church Finances: Fund-Raising and Budgeting for Church Leaders. Jossey-Bass. ISBN-10: 0787938696. This step-by-step guide to healthy habits of church finances will help church leaders focus their best creativity, leadership, and energy on advancing their mission. Written for committee members, key leaders, pastors, and staffs, this is a detailed account of budgeting and fund-raising, complete with charts and questionnaires.
MORTON, Scott (2017). Funding Your Ministry: A Field Guide for Raising Personal Support. NavPress. ISBN-10: 1631466844. Whether you are experienced at fundraising or just starting out, Funding Your Ministry will help answer your questions and put you on the biblical path for recruiting and maintaining donor support.
NOUWEN, Henri J.M. (2011). A Spirituality of Fundraising.Upper Room. ISBN: 0835810445. Have you ever raised funds for your church, another organization, or a mission trip? Maybe you felt uncomfortable about asking people to donate money. It's time to change the way you view this important task.
SHADRACH, Steve (2013).The God Ask: A Fresh, Biblical Approach to Personal Support Raising. CMM Press. ISBN-10: 098251073X. As a ministry worker, raising support can be a daunting task. God has given you a vision for ministry, and now you get to invite others into that vision. Your job is to pray and work hard to discover those whom the Lord has already prepared to invest in you and your ministry.
Generosity: Let Your Light Shine
Karen Plater is the National Church's Associate Secretary, Stewardship. In 2018, she facilitated a workshop for the Presbytery of Seaway-Glengarry.
Here is a summary of her presentation and the actual slides: Generosity 2018-PDF ; Part 1; Part 2; Part 3; and Part 4.
Effective Fundraising Ideas for Nonprofits
According to Adam Weinger, President of Double the Donation, the challenge is to find fundraising activities that make a big impact but are also inexpensive to put on.
Talk about spiritual development or growth and some names immediately come to mind: Thomas MERTON, Henri NOUWEN, J.I, PACKER, Jean VANIER (Canadian) and some writings from Roman Catholic saints (e.g., St. Francis of Assissi; St. Francis de Sales; St. Teresa of Avila; St. Theresa of Lisieux).
Here are some that I highly recommend:
THOMAS, Gary L. (2010) Sacred Pathways: Discover Your Love's Path to God". Zondervan. ISBN-10: 0310329884.
VANIER, Jean (1975). Be Not Afraid. Griffin House. ISBN 0-88760-072-7.
VANIER, Jean (1989). Treasures of the Heart: Daily Readings with Jean Vanier. Darton, Longman and Todd. ISBN 0-232-51821-1.
YOUNG, Sarah (2004). Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in his Presence (with Scripture References). Thomas Nelson. ISBN-10: 1591451884.
There are so many introductions to Christianity, and Bible study commentaries that they cannot all be listed. Some authors I like for specific topics: Philip Keller (on Psalm 23); J.I. Packer and Helmut Thielicke. You might also be interested in:
BARCLAY, William. The New Daily Study Bible ...
Barclay's commentaries on the New Testament are popular because they are written in every-day language. Barclay's interpretations reflect, unfortunately, the thinking and biases of his time, but his knowledge of the Greek language, Jewish culture and religion, and Roman occupation during the New Testament era is phenomenal.
BUSHNELL, Katharine C. (2016) God's Word to Women
This gem, written in 1921, is a groundbreaking study of what the Bible says about women. She deals with every biblical portion interpreted to mean that women are inferior. Not geared for introductory levels, this book is easy to read but deals with a comprehensive grasp of Christoan concepts, history and language.
Continuing the Journey Reading List
This Healing & Reconciliation reading list offers a variety of resoruces to educate people about the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples: non-fiction; fiction; videos; short stories, etc.
